Learn how laundry was done in the 1830s and help us clean some bandanas with an old-fashioned washtub and washboard. You might even get to take your bandana home with you once it’s dry!

Join us in the fields for hands-on opportunities working with the crops, then cool off at the house and try a sample of “switchel” -- a historic thirst-quenching drink similar in purpose to sports drinks today.

Quill to Cover: Historic Writing and Printing Summer Camp
Our third and final summer camp this year will be called Quill to Cover: Historic Writing and Printing and will be hosted at San Felipe de Austin from July 9 - 12. The camp will run from 9 am to 12:30 pm Tuesday through Friday and will be $40 per child. This camp is for kids ages 9 – 13 years old.

Cycling Saturdays
The roads within the San Jacinto State Historic Site will open early for bicyclists. Travel our 7.5 miles of site roads and see the battleground where Texas was won at your own pace. No motorized vehicles will be allowed into the site during this time to promote safe bicycling.
