Cottages & Rates
The following are the current cottages and rates at Varner-Hogg Plantation. All cottages feature heater/air conditioners.
Ranger’s Cottage – Two-Story Rental – NOW OPEN!
Built in the 1920s during the height of the site’s oil boom, this cottage features a first floor bedroom and bathroom master suite, with one additional bathroom and two guestrooms upstairs. Guests can enjoy the tranquil scenery of Varner Creek while relaxing in the cottage’s front porch rocking chairs.
- Rate is $200 per night Sunday through Thursday, and $250 per night Friday and Saturday (weekend rentals require a two night minimum).
- Maximum capacity is 8 people.

Hal’s House – One-Story Rental, ADA Accessible – COMING SOON!
Steeped in ranching history, this tin roof cottage was home to the Hogg family’s ranch foreman, Hal Fields and his wife, Mary, from 1921 until 1968. This cozy cottage features one bedroom and one private bathroom. Guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind view of the plantation from Hal’s front porch, or the peace and serenity of the home’s screened back porch amongst the woods of the Columbia Bottomlands.
- Rate is $175 per night.
- Maximum capacity is 4 people.
When you are ready to make a reservation, please call 979-345-4656 x24, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or reserve online. Reservations for more than two consecutive nights or both cottages will require payment for one cottage at the time of the reservation, which will serve as a deposit.
Check-in: 3 p.m.
Check-out: 11 a.m.
Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours in advance of the day of arrival. If cancelled within 72 hours of arrival, any deposits will be forfeited.
Check our reservation calendar for date and room availability. If a room is already reserved, it will not appear in the calendar.
No Smoking Policy
Varner-Hogg Plantation does not allow smoking anywhere on the historic site, including the grounds. A charge of $250 will be assessed to any cottage that has evidence of smoking.
No pets are allowed at Varner-Hogg Plantation.
