Join Governor Hogg and the Easter Bunny for an exciting morning of Easter Egg Hunts from 10 am to noon on the plantation grounds. The event includes story time with our own Governor Hogg and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny himself!

Four separate Easter Egg Hunts will be held: 

10:30 a.m. - For ages 0-2 years old
10:45 a.m. - For ages 3-4 years old

Join us as we celebrate the 167th birthday of the state’s first native born governor, James S. Hogg, with cake and punch on the plantation breezeway, and historic toys and games on the lawn. Meet Governor Hogg and his family on a stroll through the governor's last home, and learn about his contributions to Texas history and the site.

In honor of the site's 60th anniversary, join Varner-Hogg Plantation for an educational overnight camp out for sixty students from fifth to eighth grade. During the event, students will learn about life and survival in early Texas through a series of hands-on demonstrations, and will participate in guided tours of the plantation house, grounds, and site exhibits. Join us as we celebrate Varner-Hogg Plantation’s Sixtieth Anniversary! Spend the evening remembering the site’s grand opening in 1958 with refreshments and dancing to the music of the 1950s.
