Cost:          $2 (includes tour of site)

Caddo Mounds State Historic Site invites the public to an early Saturday morning Bird Watching program.  Bird Watching, aka "Birding," is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the nation, and Caddo Mounds will be hosting both a classroom session and walk around its wooded and wet land areas.  Come join us!  Spring is the best time for hearing bird song and seeing a bird's colorful plumage.

East Texas, with 353 species, is a great place for birding due to the diversity of habitats in the region.  Dr. Brent Burt, Professor or Biology at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a brief presentation on the basics of bird identification and then lead a birding foray into the diversity of habitats represented at Caddo Mounds.

We expect to see and hear 30-plus species.  Don't forget to bring your binoculars (if you have them), sunscreen, and insect spray.

Seating is limited, please call 936-858-3218 to indicate interest in attending.
