“Miss Mamie Parlor Days” will offer dominos, bingo, cards, or other games of interest to participants. The social will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month and will include refreshments.

This social event for games and refreshments is held in honor of Miss Mary “Mamie” Kennedy, daughter of a prominent Mexia businessman and Confederate Veteran. Miss Mamie was one of the last camp officials for the Joseph E. Johnston Camp 94, United Confederate Veterans (now Confederate Reunion Grounds). She was also a hostess for themed parties at her camp house—known as “Miss Mamie’s Delight House”—and socials held by oilman “Colonel” A.E. Humphreys during the Mexia Oil Boom in the 1920s. She was also known for her landscaped yard and walking trail from her camp house down to “The Colonel’s Spring.”
