THC's Historic Sites

Searching for the perfect gift that supports the Texas Historical Commission’s programs? We are pleased to share our holiday gift guide to inspire ideas for fans of history and heritage travel.

Our state historic sites’ museum stores offer products that will make this Christmas more magical. See full product photo gallery below and please email museumstores@thc.texas.gov or call 979-885-2181 for more information about purchasing any items from our state historic sites.

Texas Revolution

Do you know someone who’d love to trace the tracks of the Texas Revolution and the republic era where major battles occurred, independence was forged, and soldiers and their families lived? Give them the gift of a commemorative Christmas ornament for the Battle of San Jacinto, show them a rare winter snow fall on the Texas Gulf Coast with a San Jacinto Battleground snow globe, or let them write a unique letter with the empresario’s writing box from San Felipe de Austin. The writing box includes a glass inkwell, a white quill pen, powdered ink, parchment paper, and replica wax seals.

Stop into the museum store at Washington-on-the-Brazos and drink like the delegates did in 1836 with a handmade wood-fired mugCheers to the revolution!

Unique Craftmanship

Many of our sites offer unique gifts made by artisans across Texas. The Fulton Mansion in Rockport sells a small sterling charm that mirrors the impressive home overlooking scenic Aransas Bay.

The museum store at Caddo Mounds in Alto features several pieces of Caddo-crafted jewelry, including a beaded bracelet by Yonavea Hawkins and an amethyst and wampum necklace by Jenifer Reeder.

Several state historic sites sell custom handmade cowboy boot stockings from Rocketbuster Handmade Custom Boots in El Paso for the cowboys and cowgirls on Christmas morning.

Texas Historical Commission Items

Show your support for the THC by purchasing items from our state historic sites. A custom tea towel, an umbrella, a zip-up cooler bag, or our grey ball cap are just several items that are available

Preserve Military History

The Museum Store at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg features one of the largest, most comprehensive collections of books and gift items connected with World War II in the Pacific Theater. Shop online or plan your visit to either of their museum stores at the Admiral Nimitz Museum and the National Museum of the Pacific War.

Support Main Street Communities

Shop small while supporting Texas Main Street! Texas has 88 designated Main Street communities, and Texans can support these towns by shopping safely at local stores, buying gift certificates, or attending a virtual event to help revitalize our communities.

Texas Treasure Businesses

Our Texas Treasure Business Award program recognizes the accomplishments of Texas businesses that have provided employment opportunities and support to the state’s economy for at least 50 years. Help support these historic local businesses this holiday season.
