The spirit of love was in the air at Fulton Mansion State Historic Site as we hosted the second annual “Love Your Community” valentine’s craft event with the Rockport Center for the Arts and the Texas Maritime Museum.
Our Education and History Center multipurpose room became Cupid’s workshop on February 8, as 50 children and their parents experienced our six festive craft stations. Participants had a choice of crafts including traditional Victorian-style valentines as well as more contemporary greetings of love, such as the coast-inspired “Be My Lovebird” flamingo valentine.
Children of all ages had the opportunity to paint, cut, and design valentines for everyone in their community. Parents enjoyed assisting their children with valentines and perusing our restoration exhibit panels and recently donated Fulton items.
We had a blast crafting, and we look forward to our valentines sending love throughout our community!
Fulton Mansion is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton, 30 miles north of Corpus Christi. The site is part of the Texas Tropical Trail Region.
