This set of photos was taken for our Winter 2014 Medallion cover feature, which highlights Abilene and the surrounding area of the Texas Forts Trail Region. The article, “A Taste of Texas: Texas Forts Trail Region ‘Is the Real Texas People Expect to Experience,’” focuses on Frontier Texas! , the Grace Museum, Dyess Air Force Base, and the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum in Abilene; Fort Phantom Hill and Fort Chadbourne near Abilene; and Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap. This “Web extra” set features photos that were not included in the print version.
