BLACK WARRIORS of WWI Featuring the HARLEM HELLFIGHTERS Exhibit is officially opened. It is free to the public and viewable from: 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday at Austin City Hall.

A 30 minute opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 6 PM. Mayor Steve Adler will be a speaker, as will:

Eddie Harrison, son of a Harlem Hellfighter, Dr. Lila Rakoczy of the Texas Historical Commission, a representative of the "100 Black Men of Austin", Taurin Roberts, researcher Terri Hoover Murka, Bamadeli Demerson, Executive Director of the Carver Museum, and others. Ted Ellis, one of our featured artists, will also speak to the assembled participants and then will unveil his stunning new painting, "Emergence of an American Hero - Sergeant Henry Johnson".
