In celebration of the City of San Antonio’s Tricentennial, you are cordially invited to attend Military Appreciation Weekend, 5-6 May at Joint Base San Antonio - Ft. Sam Houston.
May 6 is Military Appreciation Day which marks the final day of the Tricentennial’ s Commemorative Week. Joint Base San Antonio - Ft. Sam Houston will be open to the public on both the 5th and 6th to commemorate the city’s 300 years of rich military history.
The 6th of May festivities include a polo match, awards ceremony, Joint Forces Retreat, and performances by renowned military ceremonial units including the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team, U.S. Army Black Daggers Jump Team, and The Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.
Other performances taking place at Ft Sam Houston on 5 (*) and 6 (**) May 2018 are as follows:
*12:00-1:00 PM: Navy Band “Destroyers”
** 1:00-2:00 PM Navy Band “Destroyers”
In addition, the following performances are also taking place at the Alamo on 6 May 2018:
*10:00 AM: Navy Choir
*10:30 AM: Ft. Sam’s Own Army Band
*11:00 AM: U.S. Army Old Guard (Fife and Drum)
*11:30 AM: Battle Colors Detachment (Marine Silent Drill Team / 8th and I)
