JOB OBJECTIVE: The Texas Historical Commission (THC) is the state agency for historic preservation. Agency leadership consists of a Governor-appointed commission, an Executive Director, and two Deputy Executive Directors. The subject position is the Deputy Executive Director for Administration with direct responsibility for agency administrative and business support activities. These include human resources (recruiting, staffing, performance management, compensation and benefits coordination, employee relations and counseling, orientation and training, compliance with human resource laws and the development of related policies and procedures), information technology, internal audit, risk management, property maintenance, purchasing, contracting, project management, communications, and agency planning. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. Work under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
