Volunteer Opportunities

Sam Houston and the Texian army relied heavily on volunteer troops at the Battle of San Jacinto. We might not be raising an army, but we also rely on volunteers.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with educational programs, period acting and history reenactment, prairie restoration, site maintenance, photography, woodworking, and more. No prior knowledge is required to become a volunteer—we will provide training and educational resources.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the San Jacinto Battleground, please email us at san-jacinto-battleground@thc.texas.gov and tell us a little about yourself and what you’re interested in.
