Accoutrements Workshop

Feb 11 2017 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

7066 FM 864
Fort McKavett, TX 76841

For members of our reenacting group, Co. H, 8th US Infantry, this is an opportunity to work on your various accoutrement kits in preparation for upcoming events.  Expert Site Staff will be available to guide you through difficult portions or just help you get started.  For visitors, come see how the leather accoutrements of the Antebellum Era were made and cared for.  In the time before plastic and metal containers, leather was used to carry many items the soldiers needed including ammunition and food.  Join us as we demonstrate how these items were created.  For information about this workshop, please contact us either through the Facebook page or by email at Kevin.Malcolm@thc.texas.gov.
