All avid readers and history buffs are welcome to join the Starr Family Home's Starrlight Book Club. The club will read non-fiction books and articles on subjects relating to Starr, Marshall, and Texas history.
This month's reading selection is Fourteen Hundred and 91 Days in the Confederate Army by W.W. Heartsill. Heartsill was a young soldier from Marshall that served in the Civil War with the W.P. Lane Rangers from April 19, 1861 to May 20, 1865. In this book, Heartsill recounts and describes day-by-day camp life.
You can purchase this book online or read it for free on the Library of Congress website.
