Napoleon once said that “an army moves on its stomach.”  Without food, soldiers would have a hard time fighting the enemy, which is why the Army issued them basic rations consisting of meat, beans, and bread.  This, however, was not the sum of the soldier’s diet.  The presence of the garden is proof that the soldiers definitely ate well.  Join us as we make delicious (or at least palatable) meals using the daily rations and supplemental garden produce just as the soldiers here would have.
