Stop by the Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site on Saturday, December 8th from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. to participate in “Christmas at the Maxey House,” which focuses on the Longs’ Christmas traditions this year. 

Visitors will step into the Longs’ decorated home in the midst of celebrating Christmas with family and friends just as World War I ends.  Artifacts once belonging to the Longs will be on display throughout the house, helping to tell the real stories of their Christmas traditions and involvement on the home front during the war.

During the program, visitors will have numerous opportunities to participate in Christmas crafts and traditions as they explore the historic house.  Come and enjoy a Christmas with the Longs!
