Disaster Response Workshop for Historic Cemeteries

This 2-day, hands-on, cemetery conservation workshop is intended for professionals and nonprofessional alike, including municipal city planners, cemetery managers, church sextons, cemetery grounds workers, and family members. Topics include:

  • Safety in Cemeteries and After Disaster Reentry
  • Condition Surveys & Setting Priorities
  • Vegetation Hazards Before the Storm

  • Emergency Stabilization of Markers

  • Adhesive Stone Repairs

Workshop sponsors include the Texas Cultural Emergency Response Alliance (TX-CERA), the Texas Historical Commission, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the National Park Service.
