How does a recipe for cooking ox brains teach us about history? Find out at Casa Navarro’s new exhibit, La Cocina en el Bolsillo: Early Twentieth Century Recipes for a Mexican Palate. Learn about the shared culinary heritage of San Antonio and Mexico through a series of pocket sized cookbooks published at the turn of the twentieth century. These recipe books are a window into the Mexican culinary traditions and popular culture of the time. Free recipe cards for a few choice dishes are available while supplies last. This is a free event.
