Fort Griffin Fandangle

Jun 26 2014 - 2:00pm to Jun 28 2014 - 8:00pm

Courthouse Lawn
225 South Main St
Albany, TX 76430

Fort Griffin Herd Manager Will Cradduck and several of Fort Griffin's Texas Longhorn steers will be traveling just down the road to Albany to be on display on the courthouse lawn in the evenings before the Fort Griffin Fandangle. Come see part of the Official State of Texas Longhorn Herd up close, and hear history and tales from the cattle drives and early ranching. Learn about Texas Longhorn cattle and experience a living part of Texas history!

Fort Griffin living history volunteers will be at the courthouse as well, sharing the history of the area and the fort, and providing a glimpse into the lives of the soldiers and settlers of Fort Griffin. View various demonstrations, including blank rifle and pistol demonstrations. There may even be a few gunfighters around to keep everyone entertained!

After visiting the longhorns, settlers, and soldiers from Fort Griffin, attend the Fandangle after dark at the Prairie Theater and see 16 of Fort Griffin's best longhorn steers take part in a unique outdoor musical that tells the Texas Frontier Story.
