
Illustrator and historical presenter Paula Perry will demonstrate and teach the refined art of water colors. Darryel Perry will provide accoustical music well suited to the activity.
Rowena Felt Baldwin Vance (1823-1885) came to Castroville in 1853 with her husband John and one young child. She had been trained in many refinements at the Charlestown Female Seminary, a finishing school for girls, once a suburb of Boston and now a neighborhood. Rowena learned to be en equestrian, pianist, and mastery of English, grammar, penmanship, and all other useful subjects. Rowena painted two images of the Landmark Inn that were used in restoring and preserving the site.
