San Jacinto is more than just a battlefield; it’s also home to more than 200 species of birds. Join us on Saturday, December 4 for a bird walk and presentation with Jim Stevenson of the Galveston Ornithological Society. Jim is a professional bird guide, ornithology professor and author of numerous books, including Birds of the Gulf Coast. 

The program will consist of presentation on migratory birds that pass through the upper Texas coast, a guided bird walk on our marsh boardwalk. Jim will also be signing copies of his most recent book, Birds of the Gulf Coast.

When: December 4; 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Where: Meet at the San Jacinto Monument

Ages: Adults

Activity Level: Mild; the bird walk will be no more than half a mile on the marsh boardwalk.

Cost: The program is free, but reservations are required. Tickets are first come, first serve, so sign up before they're gone! Get them at our Eventbrite page.

Things to Bring: Weather appropriate clothes, bug spray, any personal birding equipment (binoculars, camera, etc.)

Notes: The bird walk will be cancelled in case of heavy rain.
