Pack a PB&J sandwich and join us at Mission Dolores on your lunch break to learn about the history of cattle ranching in Texas! Introduced by the Spanish 300+ years ago, cattle ranching played an integral role in the story of Texas and continues to shape the culture and identity of Texans. Modern-day ranching tools/terminology have Spanish origins, and a descendant of the original Spanish cattle--the Texas Longhorn--is celebrated and revered in the Lone Star State today.
This free event is a lecture-style presentation appropriate for adult audiences.
