The French Legation State Historic Site welcomes panelists for a discussion on Maintaining the Legacy of L.C. Anderson High School. Panelists include:

  • Rebekah Dobrasko – public historian and author of Old L.C. Anderson Series with Preservation Austin and historic preservationist with TxDOT
  • Statia Paschel – Director of Social Emotional Learning & Cultural Proficiency & Inclusiveness at AISD
  • Barbara Spears-Corbett – Graduate of L.C. Anderson High in 1970 & board member of Austin History Center.

Discussion among the panelist hopes to connect audiences to the history and ongoing relevance of L.C. Anderson High School in Austin today to better elevate and maintain its legacy and tell the real story of this very real place and how it continues to impact Austinites. Panelist Rebekah Dobrasko, Statia Paschel, and Barbara Spears-Corbett will discuss the common threads in their approach to maintaining the legacy of L.C. Anderson as moderated at the French Legation, the neighbor to the historic Robertson School from which L.C. Anderson High evolved. The public is invited to ask their questions at the end.


Gates open at 5:30 PM the panel will begin in-person and broadcasting at 6:00 PM.

Facebook live event available for hybrid remote viewing. The in-person portion of the event will be outdoors on the grounds of the French Legation State Historic Site. 50 chairs are available on a first come first served basis, guests are welcome to bring their own chair if concerned about seating.
