Current circumstances regarding COVID-19 have left us at Fort McKavett without our regular programs and limited site access for months.  On Labor Day Weekend, join us for a small reception as we unveil our new rotating exhibit on Fort McKavett’s civilian laborers and a movie screening to follow.  We will be watching John Ford’s “Sergeant Rutledge” starring Jeffery Hunter, Constance Towers, and Billie Burke.  The screening will be accompanied by a look into the true history behind the movie with presenters Allen Mack and Alan Huffines displaying artifacts and items seen in the movie as well as discussing the truth and myth behind Hollywood.  Concessions will be available and proceeds go to the Friends of Fort McKavett.  Festivities will begin at the Visitor’s Center at 3:00 pm and the movie screening will be at the Schoolhouse beginning at 4:00 pm.   For more information, call 325-396-2358 or visit the Event Listing on Facebook at
