This fun activity bridges the gap between technology and the great outdoors. Participants will begin by learning about the adventurous sport of geocaching and then instructions will be provided along with a brief demonstration. Next, we will explore the forest at Mission Tejas on an easy to moderate one mile hike using GPS devices to navigate to select hidden treasure caches followed by a lunch break. Then we will hop over to the Caddo Mounds for an easy hike to search for more hidden treasures. A limited number of GPS units will be provided, feel free to bring your own if you have one. Call 936-687-2394 or email josh.crawford@tpwd.texas.gov to register as space is limited, there will be a waitlist if needed.
