Caddo Mounds State Historic Site and Virtually
In the wake of COVID-19, your Path to Plate: Snake Woman's Garden team is working on a way to get you back in the garden.
This fall we will offer a hybrid Path to Plate program. This program will cover 12 weeks beginning Thursday, September 24th.
(1.) Four families can register to participate with us in the garden. We will stagger families on Thursdays in 30 minute intervals (starting at 10) for a weekly (socially distanced) garden lesson with the Path to Plate team. For these four families, we will prep materials for the weekly activities for you to pick up when you visit the site. Registration opens August 27th, call 936.858.3221.
(2.) An unlimited number of families can participate with us via a (in development) Path to Plate website and through a new Path to Plate Facebook Group. We will have activities that you can do independently at Caddo Mounds or in your own garden along with pre-recorded videos and some Facebook live opportunities.
(3.) Since we are going virtual, we have a great opportunity for participants who wouldn't normally get to join our program to participate. We would like to extend a special invitation to any of our Caddo community who would like to join us. Just send us a private message that you want to participate and we will get you set up so that we can mail you the materials for our weekly activities.
This is a free program and is possible because of our amazing partners, Kim Benton with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, the Cherokee County Master Gardener Association, and our project educator Kerry Lemon.
Registration for the four family participants will open Thursday, August 27th at 8:30.
We are looking forward to gardening with you!
