The conference immediately follows the January quarterly commission meeting January 28-29, 2020. The conference and full commission meeting will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin near the intersection of I-35 and US 290. Contact Brad Patterson about complimentary registration.
Hosted by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission, the conference provides an opportunity for preservationists and officials to network and learn with County Historical Commissions, Main Street managers and participants, historic preservation officers and design review boards, architects and engineers, historians, archeologists, curators, interpreters, managers of museums and historic sites, as well as Texas Historical Commission staff, Texas Heritage Trail Regions, and other partner agencies.
In addition to the regular conference schedule, Real Places 2020 will offer pre-conference workshops and tours for various audiences on Wednesday, January 29th. As part of the events, the THC’s award-winning Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program will present its annual Texas Courthouse Stewardship Workshop for county officials and facilities managers, as well as special technical preservation sessions on maintaining historic buildings. We’ll again be offering continuing education credits for architects and planners.
