Our newest exhibit, "Breaking Ground: Cattle, Corn, and Cars on the Rayburn Farm" will open to the public on Saturday, September 22 at 10 a.m. This exhibit explores the history of farming and ranching at Sam Rayburn's home in Texas. Trends in farming in North Texas from the mid-20th century are explored from manual labor to mechanized equipment leading to the need for soil and water conservation through to the advent of electricity on the farm. Additionally the exhibit includes the history of the Rayburn's four historic vehicles and 1948 Farmall tractor. The exhibit includes several interactive components and is suited for all ages.
