In celebration of Stephen F. Austin's 229th birthday and 200th anniversary of his journey to Texas, join the staff of the French Legation for a walking tour of the official burial ground of the state of Texas.

This tour will highlight prominent figures from the Republic era who were buried or reinterred in the cemetery. These pioneers and politicians played key roles in the founding of the city of Austin, the drama of the Pig War, and the construction of the French Legation.

Tour begins and ends at the French Legation. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours to accommodate time for walking and questions before returning to the Legation. Parking can be found in the French Legation's parking lot located at 900 East 9th Street, Austin Texas, 78702, or at meters located around the French Legation site.

Tickets for this tour can be purchased onsite the morning of the tour at the French Legation Visitors Center. Purchase of a walking tour ticket also allows admission into the historic structures of the French Legation State Historic Site after the tour.
