The ceremony will be held on the parade grounds of Historic Fort McKavett and will feature a wreath-laying ceremony commemorating the 91 soldiers who were interred at Fort McKavett.
Commemorative ceremonies such as wreath-laying help us to reflect and remember our history. They also become a part of our history and can be source of historical interpretation. It is tradition to lay wreaths to express our appreciation and to pay tribute for the sacrifices made for our country by our service men and women. This event will allow living historians and the community to remember together. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony. Please join us in honoring the memory of the soldiers who were buried at Fort McKavett.
