Maverick County Courthouse

The architectural firm of Wahrenberger and Beckman designed the 1885 courthouse in the Romanesque Revival style with Second Empire influences.

After receiving a Round I emergency grant for roof and tower work, the county was awarded a grant to proceed with a full exterior and interior restoration. The work included making the building fully accessible, reconstructing the wood porches at the south elevation entries, returning the courthouse to its 1926 paint scheme, and restoring the existing original features, including the intact district courtroom.

A rededication was held in October 2005.
